Novelty Zen Garden

I want my website and my music to be like a Zen Garden. A place that has been washed and made pure in preparation. In preparation for what is coming into our Zen Garden is the question. Not in preparation for the nature spirits called Kami in Shinto belief but for the arrival of people who are in posession of their own divine spirit. However, similar to Shinto, we venerate rocks, lakes, old  trees, and other ambassadors of the natural world. Also similar to the Zen Garden, we want to be an arena for partying, plays, artistic expression and recreation.

In the traditional zen garden there is usually one island that is big enough for a musical ensemble. On this website, that island is the Contemporary Online World Music Store where you can hear simple and clean smooth groove music which is a blend of orignal music and traditional Asian crossover.

Usually, in the zen garden there is a stream coming in from the northeast which terminates in a lake. The stream has bridges that are tall enough for watercraft to bass below. The bridge is usually made of rock or wood and  signifies a liminal area between one world and another, spiritual world. We try to see the bridges in our music and on this website as accomplishing the same thing.

The path around the lake is symbolic for the path to Nirvana. On the path you'll find an old twisted tree which is a manifestation of the wise old man archetype who is always there to help guide you on the path if you need directions.

The water in the lake and flowing in the stream is useful for actual and figurative purification. Our music and this website is highly influenced by this concept.

Also on the path you'll find at least three different kinds of trees; plum, pine and bamboo because they are considered to have a good relationship with the cold. They are always green even in the snow.

In the stream or on the lake you may find Asian Theme dragon boats. The dragon is a representation of the divine will coming to earth and present in all matter.

In the river there are carp who are known to try to swim up stream. They say that carp are trying to become dragons. Like the Carp we aspire to be manifestations of divine will.

Somewhere along the river there is a waterfall which is a metaphor for the phrase: "The more that things change, the more they stay the same." It means that the only thing permanent is impermanence.

Zen gardens conceal as much as they reveal.  This is so that there is always something new to discover on your journey. Each twist around a bend in the path is seized as a place to put an artifact or symbol to maintain one's mind on concerns of the soul. If you take the time to look closely, you'll find even more than you ever thought possible to be contained within it.

The Zen garden attempts to interact with all of your senses so that you don't have to and don't want to follow unnecessary distractions.

A walk around the path is a journey around the center of the cosmos which cleanses the mind every time you take the journey.

Thank you for reading about our Novelty Zen Garden.
